Riot Steps

While living in Washington DC, I overheard two people discussing the concept of “riot steps” and how they could be found all over DC. Riot Steps are when the front steps of a building are designed and built specifically so that each and every step is a different height and width than the others. This random irregularity makes it impossible for an angry mob to charge into a building easily.  I am interested in ways the oppressor can design mechanisms of control  into the structures they build and we move through.
