Commissioned by EXMURO- a public arts initiative in Quebec City, This piece is made from a 1976 Zamboni ice resurfacing machine sourced from a scrapyard outside of Montreal and hundreds of handmade crystals. The crystals were made out of found plastic trash and epoxy resin.
Like staring into a geode, I recall my earliest memories mesmerized by the gasoline powered Zamboni- creating a glimmering Labyrinth of fresh ice on the indoor rink. These moments continue to be a meditation for me where I drift into brief contemplation on Earthly materials, Earthly temperatures and now, becoming a Goaltender in California
This piece is currently installed on The Bank of The St. Lawrence River, Quebec City, QC
